Structure of a nitride layer



The result of Nitriding /Nitrocarbourising is a nitrate layer, consisting of a
Session layer and diffusion layer. It can be usefull to produce only one
to diffusison layer.

Compound Layer:

Outer border of the nitrated layer, consisting of nitrides and
nitro carbides. ( white layer)

Diffusion Layer:  

Region between white layer and unaffected core material
is called the diffusion layer.
